So many times I've had people ask me, especially those who've known me in my previous clothes as a fitness professional, "How did you start?" So far, I haven't come up with anything solid, no paradigm shift that slapped me in the face one day. As a little girl (a couple years ago) I saw myself decorating wedding cakes, but that vision was only fleeting and fell short of the dreams of becoming a prosecutor. So imagine my surprise when a melting, poorly constructed two tiered nightmare of a cake for my little sister's birthday actually turned into a business, who would've thunk?Well I've been caking crazy and loving every minute of it.
Now where ever I go in town I hear, "You're the Cake Lady!" and while I can't tell you where the inspiration to decorate truly came from, my catering is definitely a spin off of Cubbie Greene's unmatched culinary expertise. My grandmother, a restaurateur that fed the town with love and soul. I remember watching the droves of hungry patrons from near and far come into my grandmother's soul food kitchen. Each and every one of them left full and happy as if they had just come home for the holidays, they were warmed through and through by the food and that wonderful chef that prepared each and every plate with love. Since then I have been committed to giving only the best at every event whether my recipes are on the dinner menu, dessert or both! So come on into my world of good eats, both sweet and savory and I guarantee you'll be glad you came and I'll see you again.
