I have worked with Selena on several different events and all I can say is that she is the best! As an events planner, I've worked with many caterers and bakeries. By far, Selena's cakes are not only savory and delicious, they are beautifully designed and original. If you give her a challenge, she will over exceed your expectation.  Selena is an amazing! I found this jewel 3yrs ago. My husband & I were planning a simple wedding. Nothing extravagant, just 50 of our nearest & dearest. Well, a week before the wedding I got a boot on my car (the city of chicago got me!)Due to the fines/fees I decided to call the wedding off. We were married at city hall so this was a formality for the families. My husband refused stating that the wedding was to profess our love not our bank account! So the show must go on...so what if we had to scale back! I paced back and forth trying to figure out how to pull off a wedding for mere hundreds. Don't know why, but God sent me to craigslist, where I found Selena. She had beautiful cakes posted and stated her prices were affordable. At this point I was one call away from going to Jewels. However, this Angel!...hearing the distress in my voice...she asked me what my budget was, offered to make me a cake within my budget with the condition that I trust her with the entire concept. My cake was beautiful!!! (and if you don't believe me look at her wedding cakes, the all white one with the "C" on it, draped in white roses...THAT'S ME). The cake was as delicious as it was beautiful. But wait, it doesn't stop there, this God sent pulled a couple of cards for me and by sundown I had a more budget friendly photographer & a dress on deck if needed. She stayed professional all the while, delivered & set up my cake, even stayed for a bit of the wedding & poses for pics! She will always have a special place in my heart for her kindness and WHENEVER anyone asks "know where I can find a good cake or food?" SELENA will always be my answer

So my first introduction to Selena's Cake of Your Dreams was at the birthday party for Craig Gilmore & yes my husband was in line not once, twice or three times - let's say four times! Selena had to personally cut the man off. He did make it to me for a tasting & OMG I'd never had such a beautiful cake to taste SO GOOD!!! So much so that when we got married last year it was going to be a Cake of Your Dreams! Selena, is very creative & a darn good baker as well. I told her I wanted a Bulls sheet cake & a Bears sheet cake, but the designer in her said let me show you some options - needless to say we had THE CAKE OF MY DREAM!!!! Chef Selena Nicole has created and delivered a multitude of gourmet creations for my family members, fundraising events, and my nuptials. Without the unhindered dedication and gratuitous devotion, my wedding ceremony and soirée would not have concluded so elegantly. Selena recognized my frustration with the planning of the event and took the time out of her demanding schedule to alleviate some of the anxiety by helping me decide on colors, place settings, favors, etc. Unwaveringly, I gave Selena complete creative control and she graciously delivered a 3 tier cake with a cheese cake topper with skillfully crafted sugar calla lilies. As I timidly walked into my reception, I was astounded to see place settings of tropical fish swimming through the picturesque glow of floating candles. To top the evening off, each guest was blessed with Selena's handmade chocolates encased in containers with custom tags and ribbons. Selena delivered far more than expected. I know she did this because she understands professionalism, has a great passion for her craft and a love for her friends. I am in love with Cake of Your Dreams Chicago and Chef Selena Nicole makes dreams a delightful reality.

Ordered catering today from Selena Nicole! The food was so good! My coworkers all asked who did you get this from. We had fried catfish, perch, chicken, mac and cheese, spaghetti, cornbread, fruit salad and cupcakes. Usually you are a good baker or a good cook but this awesome lady is both. So professional! That was an amazing cake you made for Craig's birthday! You were so easy to work with - I knew the colors I wanted but your vision helped to create the final masterpiece. It was beautiful, elegant and delicious and the "frosting" on an amazing party.

I wanted to say that I could not have chosen a better cake creator than Cake of Your Dreams Chicago. My birthday cake was absolutely gorgeous and had all of the restaurant staff, my family and other patrons in awe of my designer cake. The outside appearance was just the beginning of my wonderful experience. I ordered a Red Velvet cake with cream cheese icing and it was so decadent and moist. Many times cakes look god but the taste doesn’t live up, this was NOT the case here. I appreciate Cake of Your Dreams Chicago making my birthday celebration extra special with a fabulous cake! Cake of Your Dreams (Selena) has made cakes for me not once, not twice, or three times, she has made four cakes for me that has sent my heart singing. My daughters first birthday cake was absolutely astounding and it matched her Minnie Mouse party dress to the smallest detail imaginable. I ordered a cake for my birthday party in Feb. I requested that it be pink and green.  I had seen other cakes she designed and was totally fine with letting her "work her magic"!  My cake exceeded my expectations!  She created a basket  filled with individual  sugar roses!  Not only was it beautiful but it was also delicious!

The company’s name say’s it all! I was looking for that special cake to celebrate my 40th birthday in December 2009, one that would represent me and my personality. After extensive search for custom a cake designer I was glad I found “Cake of Your Dreams”. From the initial consultation, I knew it was going to be an awesome experience, I’m so glad I chose you.  The experience of collaborating my ideas with your cake decorating and design expertise was nothing short of exceptional. Taking the time to answer all questions promptly, flexible with regards to appointment bookings, competitive on pricing, and delivery service to event location, exceeded my expectations. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for a job well done.

I called it my “Diva” cake! Not only did it look extraordinary it tasted absolutely delicious! My guests were blown away by my cake, as it became a focal point of interest with picture taking, until it was time to cut and serve the cake. I received so many complimentary comments about the cake, both its appearance and the cake itself.  Even the Banquet hall staff and the event decorator asked for information who prepared the cake, which I gladly shared with them.

My Diva cake was composes of three mouth-watering flavors. The bottom layer was red-velvet with cream cheese frosting; the second layer was lemon cake with vanilla lemon cream frosting; and the top layer (my personal treat a ‘Channel Purse’ just for me) tasted like chocolate covered strawberries. A cake purse with yellow cake, strawberry filling covered in chocolate…Yummy! Everyone love the cake, there was more than enough for all my guests. Event the fondant…which I usually do not like was the best I’ve ever tasted.

I truly feel I lucked out finding someone as talented, professional and friendly as you to prepare the cake I shared with my friends and family. Not only will I refer anyone looking for a special occasion cake to you, but also wouldn’t hesitate to use you for my next special event or celebration.
